2 Escape Basement Blaze Tuesday Morning
Investigators have yet to determined was started an early morning fire on Winward Trail in rural Palos.
A basement blaze burned a single-family home in Palos Park Tuesday morning.
No one was hurt in the fire in unincorporated Palos Township, according to Palos Fire Protection District officials. According to a Firenet Alert, the home is located in the 16200 block of South Winward Trail.
Two people were home when the fire started at about 1:30 a.m., officials said. They were able to get out of the home safety before district fire crews arrived.
Investigators do not yet know what ignited the fire. Officials expect that it was take some time to figure out what happened.
