Stagg Brings Back Homecoming Parade for 50th Anniversary

Homecoming is a big deal at Stagg this year and as part of the celebration the community is invited to watch the parade down Roberts Road.

What better way to celebrate the big 5-0 than with a parade?

Almos Alonzo Stagg High School is marking their 50th anniversary by bringing back the traditional homecoming parade of the past. On Friday, Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. the parade will make its way from Conrady Junior High, 7950 W 97th St., to Stagg, 8015 W. 111th Street.

Participating will be over 40 different sports teams, clubs and activities from the school. They will be accompanied by golf cart floats. Also marching will be representatives from the communities that feed into Stagg and local police and fire departments.

In a nod to the school's history, the grandson and extended family of Amos Alonzo Stagg will also be marching in the parade.

The parade will travel down Roberts Road and into Stagg where a pep rally for students will be held. The homecoming game will start at 7 p.m. Before the game Stagg band alumni will reunite to play.
