ReplyA good pub. The Trap is old news and I feel that we need a new more up to date place to gather with friends for a drink to unwind.

ReplyMy boys are to young right now but once they are older, they can earn privileges not money. Like keep your room clean for the week and you can have a sleep over.
Doing things like morning the lawn will earn a little cash.
To teach the value of money they can have a lemonade stand or temporary tattoo stand

ReplyI like this idea, other then the whole voting process. I for one will let whoever actually likes my photo vote for it, not hound total strangers into voting 1,000 times. It makes it unfair. But good luck to all and I very much enjoy looking at the photos with my boys!!

ReplyWhere as I do not agree with the more skimpy outfits aimed at todays youth, you also have to remember, these things are out there because there ARE parents who actually buy these things for there kids. I myself only have boys, but if I had a daughter, I would ofcourse not condone her wearing such revealing articals, BUT what I read here is that, and I quote , "Teaching kids to expose themselves and feel comfortable is a recipe for disaster as they become objectified"is not something I would teach my kids. Yeah, it means becoming more objectified, but I want my kids to grow up COMFORTABLE in their own skin, and with todays media, that is getting harder and harder. No, I would not let my child wear something like that in public, and I wouldn't be happy about it being worn at home, but I would be happy my child is comfortable enough in their own skin to want to wear something like that.
There is no stopping how times change, heck, when I was growing up wearing jeans and a band tee to school was an outrage, but obviously times and styles and how things work change. The best thing as parents; mothers, fathers and gaurdians, that we can do is to educate our children on the message they send by how they present themselves, while trying not to cut back on their creativity and indivduality. Keep in mind your style was not exactly approved of when you were growing up, and that wont change threw the generations. Just educate your children and do what you feel is right by them.

Oh Ty, I am sorry. I would never recover from that.
What gets me most, is that people don't understand, not only Safe Haven, but adoption in general. My aunt couldn't have children, and her and my uncle were on a wait list for a long time before she passed. Most people who choose to adopt, pay the medical expenses for the mother.
Seriously, there are so many options where the baby has a chance at life. That baby, that poor sweet angel, she may have grown up to cure cancer, bring on world peace, save a hundred lives or even just one. And because some selfish sad excuse of a human being, another precious life is lost. This is truly a sad world we live in these days.
