MONDAY, MAY 6 Helena J. Pena, 19, of the 300 block of West 65th Street, Burr Ridge, was charged with zero tolerance, illegal screeching of tires, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without proof of insurance, according to a report. Police stopped Pena in the 7900 block of West College Drive when her vehicle screeched its tires. An officer speaking with the driver found her to be under the age of 21 and that she had been drinking. Police also discovered drug paraphernalia. She is due on June 26 in Bridgeview court. Avant, 32, of the 14800 block of Woodlawn Avenue, Dolton, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol content greater than 0.08 and stopping in the roadway, according to a report. Police were called at about 11:23 p.m. to the 12100 block of South Ridgeland Avenue for a report of a possibly drunken driver. Miller, 54, of the 9100 block of South Moody Avenue, Oak Lawn, was charged with driving under the influence, DUI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08, driving without insurance and driving without a rear registration plate light, according to a report. Miller's car was stopped at about 3:40 a.m. near the intersection of Edgewood Road and 70th Avenue for an equipment violation. An investigation determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and could not provide proof of insurance. Miller also submitted to a breath test.
