Battery Charge More than a Month After Attack: Blotter

Palos Heights police reports, Nov. 1 & Dec. 4.

THURSDAY, NOV. 1 Fatime Destani, 37, of the 14700 block of South Central Avenue in Oak Forest, was charged with battery, according to a police report. A woman came into the Palos Heights Police Department more than a month ago and told officers she was the victim of a battery. She filled out a report but only recently decided to pursue charges. DUI, Drug Paraphernalia Charges for Littering Driver: Blotter

Palos Heights police reports, Sept. 26-30.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 26 Christie Czubik, 23, of the 16600 block of Stuart Ave. in Orland Park, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and an equipment violation, according to a report. Czubik's vehicle was stopped for only having one headlight at about 11:30 p.m. near 12200 S. Harlem Ave., police said. She then told the officer she had drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. THURSDAY, SEPT. 27 Daniel W. Taylor, 24, of the 1500 block of Cambria Court in Joliet, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, possessing drug paraphernalia, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, following too close and littering from a vehicle, according to a report. MONDAY, APRIL 30 William E. Erickson, 36, of the 11500 block of Natchez Avenue in Worth was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), driving on a suspended license and speeding. Police said Erickson failed field sobriety tests after his car was stopped in the 11900 block of Harlem Avenue around 2:30 a.m. SUNDAY, APRIL 29 Justin A. Weiss, 35, of the 11500 block of Joalyce Drive in Alsip was charged with DUI, operation of uninsured motor vehicle and failure to wear seat belt. SUNDAY, APRIL 1 Amber R. McGowan, 31, of the 2400 block of 183rd Street in Homewood was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), driving with BAC greater than 0.08, improper lane usage and speeding. Police said McGowan failed field sobriety and breath tests after stopping her car in the 12200 block of Harlem Avenue around 2 a.m. for drifting between lanes and traveling 49 in 35 mph zone. SATURDAY, MARCH 10 Laura Kolloway, 21, of the 7800 block of Joliet Drive North in Tinley Park was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and improper lane usage. Police said they smelled alcohol on Kolloway’s breath after stopping her car in the 11900 block of Harlem Avenue around 1:30 a.m. for drifting between lanes. She was arrested after failing field sobriety tests and a breath test, according to the report. Palos Heights Police Blotter: Sheriff's Investigation Leads Heights Police to Gun Arrest

Palos Heights reports, Feb 7-12

SUNDAY, FEB. 12 Mohammad A. Damra, 19, of the 8800 block of 84th Street in Justice was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and theft. Palos Heights police said the charges stem from a Cook County Sheriff’s Department investigation in unincorporated Burbank that led detectives to a theft in the 12500 block of Harold Avenue. Damra was arrested around 3 a.m. Police said a rifle was among the stolen items found in Damra’s possession, but they refused to release any further information.  Nicholas Hullett, 27, of the 9100 block of Orchard Lane in Bridgeview was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
