MARCH 1 TJ Guzier, 25, of Willow Springs, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use, squealing tire and driving with a loud muffler, according to a report. Police spotted Guzier's vehicle at about 4:30 a.m. near the 10100 block of Roberts Road. It was traveling fast and squealed its tires. During a traffic stop, police were able to smell a strong order of alcohol on his breath. Field sobriety tests were conducted, which Guzier allegedly failed. He was given an April 23 court date. A Cook County judge refused to lower the bond for 19-year-old Matthew Lefebvre on Monday, a move that would have qualified him for the county's jail-based drug rehab program.
A Palos Hills accused of providing heroin to a teen girl who overdosed twice is considering a plea deal for an alleged probation violation from a separate 2011 robbery case. Matthew Lefebvre, 19, appeared Monday in Judge Colleen Ann Hyland's Bridgeview courtroom for earlier theft case. He remains in custody at the Cook County Department of Corrections on $250,000 bond. Officials allege Lefebvre violated his probation with an Oct. 27 arrest for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and endangering the life of a child; he was arrested again for similar charges on Nov. 7, according to court records. James Dougherty, the former City of Palos Heights building commissioner fired from his job earlier this month, has been charged with theft. Dougherty is accused of collecting $600 in payment for fines and permit fees on July 25 but not turning the money in or issuing a receipt to the business owner, police said. “We are disappointed that someone who was put in a position of trust within our city would betray that trust," said Palos Heights Mayor Robert Straz. "We immediately asked the police to investigate once this was brought to our attention. Police were called around 9:15 a.m. to the area of 8500 West 102nd Terrace where the car had been parked since midnight. PALOS HILLS, IL – A Palos Hills man accused of stealing a canister of donations collected for a cancer patient pleaded guilty to one count of theft Friday, July 13 and as part of a plea agreement received 24 months of probation, according to the Cook County State's Attorney's office. Joseph Campione, 45, of Palos Hills, was charged with one count of felony theft after Crestwood police said he ran out of a convenience store in the 13600 block of Cicero Avenue on Dec. 5, 2011, with a jar of money that was intended to help a 27-year-old Alsip woman pay her medical bills.
