A locally sourced restaurant featuring food purchased from area farmers and a selection of crafted teas held its grand opening Tuesday. Harvest Room Restaurant, located at the corner of 127th Street and Harlem Avenue, is the newest addition to Palos Heights' food landscape. Hound Dogs Brings 'Mr. Beef' To Palos Heights

The little hot dog spot is quickly building a following.

Hound Dogs, Palos Heights' newest hot dog restaurant, is picking up steam. "People are coming in and coming back," said owner Dave Leon. He said his hot dogs and the Original Mr. Beef sandwiches are drawing more and more lunch customers. Leon had operated a restaurant in Midlothian before Mr. Submarine made him an offer on the location. The Palos Heights resident and his wife Denise live just a few blocks away from the 7230 W. Valley Inn Restaurant Set to Appear on Food Network Show This Week

The Palos Hills joint is scheduled to appear on the television program 'Restaurant: Impossible' this Wednesday.

Dennis Ristucci thought his younger brother was joking when he said a television show wanted to feature his restaurant. "I actually hung up on the guy thinking it was one my of brother’s buddy’s busting my chops," said Dennis, who runs Valley Inn Restaurant. But after a quick call back, scouts for the Food Network television show "Restaurant: Impossible" had worked out the details with Dennis for shooting an episode featuring the family run restaurant in Palos Hills. Valley Inn's episode is scheduled to air at 8 p.m. p.m. (CST) Wednesday. Promotional commercials for it began running last week.
