Palos Heights Police Blotter: Two Hit-and-Run Incidents, One Driver Sent to Hospital

Palos Heights police reports, Aug. 18-29

MONDAY, AUG. 29 Karen E. Walton, 48, of the 6000 block of 128th Street in Palos Heights, was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to reduce speed to avoid accident. Police officers arrested Walton at her home around 1 p.m. after a witness provided a license plate number and told them that a car had struck another car from behind near 135th Street and Spyglass Circle and fled. No injuries were reported. Sean P. Geraghty, 19, of the 7300 block of Pueblo Lane in Palos Heights, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they spoke with Geraghty in front of his home around 11:45 p.m., after watching him stumble off the street, and they smelled burnt marijuana. During a search of his …

Palos Heights Police Blotter: DUI Motorcade

Palos Heights police reports, July 24

SUNDAY, JULY 24 Joseph G. Maglaris, 23, of the 10400 block of Kolmar Avenue in Oak Lawn, was charged with driving under the influence, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage. Police said they stopped Maglaris’ car in the 6800 block of 135th Street around 1:30 a.m. for “crossing over the double line with the driver’s side tires by 10 inches.” Maglaris was unable to provide proof of insurance and failed a breathalyzer exam, according to the report. Pawel Bobowik, 26, of the 9300 block of Landings Lane in Des Plaines, was charged with DUI, improper lane usage and speeding. Palos Heights Police Blotter: Drunken Driver Asleep at the Wheel

Palos Heights police report, July 13-19

TUESDAY, JULY 19 Matthew D. Heintzman, 21, of the 12000 block of 74th Avenue in Palos Heights, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis and possession of drug equipment. Police said they stopped Heintzman’s car in the 12300 block of Harold Avenue around 3 a.m. after he matched the description of a suspicious person who had been seen looking into parked cars. TUESDAY, JULY 5  Antonio Martinez, 23, of the 6000 block of Kilbourne Avenue in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and speeding. Police said they stopped Martinez’s car in the 12900 block of Harlem Avenue around 12:15 a.m. for driving 56 in a 35 mph zone and smelled alcohol on his breath. He was given field sobriety tests and failed, police said.  MONDAY, JULY 4 Three men were charged with drug-related offenses after their car was stopped in the 6400 block of 127th Street around 2:30 p.m. for having a defective windshield, according to a police report. Police said they searched the car and charged the driver, Kyle F. MONDAY, JUNE 27  Salvador Magdaleno, 27, of the 1700 block of Ashland Avenue in Park Ridge, was charged with driving under the influence, operation of an uninsured vehicle, speeding, improper lane usage and driving without headlights. Police said they stopped Magdaleno in the 12000 block of Harlem Avenue around 1:30 a.m. for driving 72 in a 35 mph zone, without headlights. Magdaleno was subsequently seen drifting into the curbside lane, where he struck a construction horse barrier, police said. SUNDAY, JUNE 26 Alaeddin J.
