Accused accomplices in murders of John and Maria Granat told to submit to DNA tests. The three and the Granats' son appeared in court Monday.
Each one was brought in separately, and each time the judge had the same thing to say. The four teens charged in the brutal beating deaths of John and Maria Granat, of Palos Townsip, appeared in court today. Judge Peter Felice ordered Christopher Wyma, 17, of Bridgeview, Mohammad Salahat, 17, of Chicago Ridge, and Ehab Qasem, 19, of Hickory Hills, to submit to DNA swabs. The trio was indicted by a grand jury last week. Prosecutors say the three teens worked with John Granat 17, to kill his parents and steal about $35,000 from their home near Palos Park on Sept. 11.
