Stagg Student Accused of Hitting a Teacher: Blotter

Palos Hills police reports, Jan. 17-18.

THURSDAY, JAN. 17 A male juvenile was charged with battery after allegedly hitting a Stagg High School teacher, according to a report. Police were called at about 8:30 a.m. to the school, located at 8015 W. 111th St. School employees told officers the boy was asked to take off his hat inside the building but refused. After being asked to follow a teacher to the administration area, the student swore and hit the teacher in the chest. He will appear in Bridgeview juvenile court. Join the conversation. Judge Refuses Bond Hike For Man Who Reportedly Referenced Newtown School Massacre

A Cook County judge denied prosecutors' motion to raise the bond for 31-year-old Matthew Lynch, charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct after he allegedly made threats and referenced the Newtown, CN, school shooting during a DUI arrest.

A Cook County judge refused to raise the bond for a man who reportedly threatened police and referenced the Newton, Conn. school shooting just days after the massacre. Judge Patrick T. Rogers did impose special conditions of 31-year-old Matthew Lynch's I-bond — which didn't require Lynch to post anything to get out of jail — during a hearing on Tuesday. Rogers said Lynch must surrender any firearms, his FOID card and his passport. Lynch must also stay with his sister for the duration of the case and there may not be any firearms allowed in her home either, Rogers ruled. Rogers also ordered a psychiatric evaluation for Lynch, who is already currently seeing a mental health professional, according to comments made in court Tuesday. Lynch was…

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 2 Police were called to a home in the 10400 block of Interlochen Drive for a reported burglary. The victim told officers he had been away and, when he returned home, the rear door was open. A Samsung 51-inch TV, a Playstation, two pairs of sunglasses, jewelry and other items were missing. SUNDAY, DEC. 23 Randall Weyhe, 34, of Hometown, was charged with driving under the influence, speeding, driving without proof of registration and failing to secure registration after purchase, according to a report. Weyhe was stopped by police for allegedly going 49 mph in a 35 mph zone at about 12:02 a.m. in the 7900 block of 111th Street. Officers reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol and hearing slurred speech coming from Weyhe. Police arrested him and he allegedly failed field sobriety tests. FRIDAY, DEC. 14 Juan J. Torres, 28, of Palos Hills, was charged with driving under the influence, according to a police report. He was arrested at 2:07 a.m. in the 10300 block of Alta Drive. Two juveniles were cited for battery after fighting, according to police. Officers were called at 8:45 a.m. to the 8000 block of 111th Street. Man Arrested for DUI Threatened to Hurt Kids at School: Police

A Palos Hills man referenced the Connecticut shooting massacre while in custody Monday, police said. Officers have removed guns and ammo from his home.

A Palos Hills man faces charges after telling police he was going to hurt children and referencing the Connecticut elementary school shooting. Michael L. Lynch, 31, was arrested at around 2:30 a.m. Monday in the 8800 block of 107th Street. He is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and disorderly conduct. While in custody, Lynch told officers he was going to harm children at a school and would return to the police station to shoot people, Palos Hills police said. He also made references to hurting himself and to the tragedy at a Newtown, Conn., elementary school where 27 people died, including 20 children, six adults and the gunman. Officers seized firearms and ammunition from Lynch’s home “for safe keeping,” police said. …

Palos Hills Police Blotter: Man Stabbed, Refuses to Cooperate

Palos Hills police reports, June 12 - 17.

SUNDAY, JUNE 17 A man called police to report that he had been jumped and stabbed with a knife around 3:44 a.m. in the 8500 block of 100th Terrace, police said. The man was not able to provide police with details of what happened, and the describe him as "uncooperative" and that he "refused to give any further information."
