33 Years in Prison for Pair Accused of 2009 Home Invasion

Andrew Dortch, 34, of Calumet City and Marcus Simpson, 24, of Matteson, were found guilty on Jan. 10 of a Palos Hills home invasion where one victim was tied up with duct tape.

Two men charged in a 2009 Palos Hills armed home invasion were sentenced to 33 years in prison last month. Andrew Dortch, 34, of Calumet City and Marcus Simpson, 24, of Matteson, had been charged with home invasion, Palos Hills police said. The two men were accused of breaking into a home on May 15, 2009, in the area of 10700 Olympia Circle. One victim inside the home fought with gunman and escaped to a neighbor, where he called 911, police said. Another victim remained tied up with duct tape. Officers caught up with the suspects, who were running several blocks away from the home. Both men were found guilty on Jan 10 of home invasion with a firearm and sentenced.
