This Week's Pet: Check Out the Cats and Dogs Still Looking for Homes

Looking for a pet? Take a walk down memory lane at some of the animals up for adoption at PAWS that Patch has featured recently.

For this Thanksgiving weekend, we decided to feature not one pet in Adopt Me! but all the pets that we've featured recently that are still available for adoption at PAWS in Tinley Park. Check out the following videos to see how cute and friendly these animals are. And go to their individual profiles for more information. CATS Squirt: 1-year-old domestic short hair with a stealthy, curious side Snuggles: 7-year-old domestic medium hair cat who enjoys cuddling.  Baby: a playful, affectionate 3-year-old domestic short hair cat with orange, black and white fur. DOGS Angel: 7-year-old German Shepherd mix, with tan and black fur, who has a calm, warm and affectionate demeanor.

This Week's Pets: Puppies Randolph and Dover

Two energetic and adorable puppies are ready for adoption from PAWS of Tinley Park.

They're energetic. They're happy. They're good with kids and cats but mostly they're just adorable. Randolph and Dover, two 2-month-old Boston Terrier/Weimaraner mixes, are looking for homes. This Week's Pet: Frollie

This five-month old playful cat needs a home.

Frollie is a five-month old domestic shorthair cat who needs a place to live. She has short, black fur, with erect ears and a long tail. The volunteers at Tinley Park PAWS Animal Shelter describe her as having a "big personality." She's independent, yet playful and prefers to be held over being petted. Frollie has also known to go on solo expeditions among the winter coat regions.

Have a Happy Black (Labrador) Friday

PAWS of Tinley Park offers deals on all black animals.

While thousands will crowd the malls tomorrow, searching for deals on toasters, iPods and sweaters, people looking for more meaningful Black Friday bargains can find them at PAWS of Tinley Park. They can give animals like Katherine a home. All day tomorrow, the no-kill shelter located at 8301 191st St., Tinley Park, will be offering discounts on the adoption fees, but only if the animal is black. "Black dogs are $125 instead of $150 and all black cats – including kittens – are $35," said Marilyn Bailey, a director at the non-profit shelter run by volunteers. This Week’s Pet: Windy

Windy, a two-year-old male American pit bull terrier, is one of many pets in need of a home at Tinley Park PAWS.

Meet Windy. He's a gentle yet energetic American pit bull terrier who was brought to PAWS Tinley Park about two weeks ago. He was a stray, and at this time, no one knows where he was before coming to PAWS. Windy's a handsome dog with short red fur, brown eyes and a friendly "smile." Windy weighs 63 pounds, has been microchipped and responds well to training. He gets along great with people and other dogs, and walks well on the leash. Windy is a playful dog, always eager to play fetch, even if he already has a ball in his mouth.

This Week's Pet: Diesel

This 11-month-old Labrador-Doberman mix is just one of many animals up for adoption at PAWS of Tinley Park.

Diesel is a handsome, high-energy 11-month-old Labrador-Doberman mix. He's very friendly, but can play a bit rough for younger children. He's healthy, up-to-date on his shots and microchipped. A great, happy dog for an active person.

This Week's Pet: Nuggie

Nuggie is just one of the pets available for adoption at PAWS of Tinley Park.

Nuggie, an 8-year-old male chow/husky mix has been at PAWS of Tinley Park since Aug. 27, when his owner was forced to give him up due to economic considerations. He is healthy, up to date on all his shots, neutered and microchipped. Nuggie is a sweet and attentive dog who loves short walks, being with family and kisses. His previous owner prepared a list of Nuggie's likes and dislikes.
