Update: Evergreen's Megan Beckow is Patch's MVP This Week

She scored 17 points, had five steals and four rebounds in a 67-23 girls basketball victory over Nobles Street-Muchin in the Class 3A DeLaSalle Regional.

UPDATE: Oak Forest's Alec Brown is Patch MVP

Oak Forest's Alec Brown outpolled 10 others in voting for Southland Patch's MVP, Dec. 31-Jan. 6. He is now eligible for Patch Athlete of the Month honors.

Hi this is regarding kevin white glad to know he was nominated for patch mvp it's just one problem friends and family didn't know at all, so we could not vote for him we all just found out about it jan 11. How do you know when someone is nominated? How can he be nominated again? That's to bad that happened.   more ›

UPDATE: And the Winner in Voting for Patch Athlete of the Week is ...

Oak Forest's Courtney Kachlik busted loose in a career-high scoring performance in the championship game of the Evergreen Park Class 3A Regional. Then, she outpolled five others in voting for Patch Athlete of the Week honors.

Oak Forest's Courtney Kachlik outpolled five others in voting for Patch's Athlete of the Week, Feb. 12-18. Now, she is eligible for February Patch Athlete of the Month recognition. The candidates: Jubril Adekoya, junior, center/forward, boys basketball, Andrew. Adekoya delivered two more double-doubles as the T-Bolts notched victories No. 20 and 21 and became the winningest Andrew boys basketball team since 1989-90. Adekoya had 18 points and 16 rebounds in a 53-43 victory over Sandburg. Then, he followed up with 19 points and nine rebounds in a 58-31 victory over Thornridge. Wrestling: Duda Tops List of Six Marist State Medal Winners

Mark Duda placed second in the 113-pound weight class and topped a list of six individual medal winners for Marist at the Class 3A state wrestling tournament.

Mark Duda topped a list of six individual medal winners for Marist in the Class 3A state wrestling tournament. Duda won 3-of-4 matches and placed second in the 113-pound weight class Saturday at Assembly Hall in Champaign. He dropped a 5-4 decision to Jordan Northruup of Machesney Park Harlem in the finals. Duda finished with a record of 36-2. Dave Kasper (106, 5th), Peter Andreotti (152, 6th), Alex Benoit (170, 5th), Josh Pruitt (195, 4th) and Josh Hickey (285, 6th) also won medals for the RedHawks.
