A Burr Ridge college student jailed after a deadly head-on crash hobbled into court on crutches and learned he would be going home. Cook County Judge Carmen Aguilar set bail for 19-year-old Nicholas Puccinelli at $250,000 during a Thursday morning hearing at the Bridgeview Courthouse. Puccinelli's attorney, Paul Moreschi of Oakbrook Terrace, said the teen's family was going to pay the $25,000 needed to secure his release from the Cook County Jail Thursday. A two-car head-on collision was reported at Route 83 and 69th Court
UPDATE at 7:20 p.m. Three ambulances were called to respond to the accident where on one person is reported trapped inside one of the vehicles, according to police. ___________________________________ Two cars collided head-on around 7 p.m. Saturday night at the intersection of Route 83 and 69th Court in Palos Heights, according to police. Bond has been set at $10,000 for the Bridgeview driver in a two-car crash in Palos Park that hospitalized four people. Scott M. Staniszewski, 26, of the 9200 block of Pembrook was charged earlier this week in a crash near on Route 45 near 123rd Street that also damaged Hackney's sign, police said. Staniszewski appeared in Bridgeview court Tuesday for his bond hearing, police said. At around 2:06 a.m. Monday, Staniszewski's car collided with another car that had four passengers inside, police said. A Bridgeview man has been charged in an early morning, drunk driving crash in Palos Park that sent four people to the hospital, police said Monday afternoon. Scott M. Staniszewski, 26, of the 9200 block of Pembrook, is scheduled to appear in a Bridgeview courtroom for a bond hearing Tuesday, police said. He is charged with disobeying a traffic control device, failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash and felony driving under the influence of alcohol. Staniszewski currently is being held by Palos Park police. Police were called to a crash at around 2:06 a.m. Monday on Route 45 near 123rd Street.
