Palos Park Police Blotter: More Copper Thefts and a DUI

Palos Hills police reports, June 27-July 4.

MONDAY, JULY 4 Two 10-foot sections of copper downspouts were taken from a home on the 9100 block of 126th Street sometime during the night, police said. TUESDAY, JUNE 28 Sections of copper gutter valued at about $1,000 were removed from a home on Elizabeth Lane, police said. MONDAY, JUNE 27 Several pieces of copper were damaged and a copper valve was taken from a construction site on the 12400 block of Post Road, police said. SUNDAY, JUNE 26 Kenneth Holmes, 39, of the 6800 block of W. 110th Street in Worth, was charged with harassment by electronic communications. Shorewood Man Charged in Connection with Palos Township Copper Theft

A Shorewood man was charged with burglary after police said he stole copper piping and wire from a house under construction in Palos Township.

County officers say they caught a Shorewood crook red-handed, grabbing him in the act of boosting copper piping and wire from a house under construction in Palos Township. Officials say Joshua Davis-Nguyen, 25, of the 22300 block of South River Road in Shorewood, was jailed on a burglary charge in connection with Thursday afternoon's break-in. Patrol officers with the Cook County Sheriff's Office said they discovered Davis-Nguyen and a second man in the closed garage of a house on Ambrose Drive around 3:30 p.m. Thursday. The officers said they were investigating a report of a burglary in progress when they found Davis-Nguyen hiding in a car in the garage. The officers collared Davis-Nguyen but his accomplice managed to escape and flee the …
