3 DUI Stops and a Pot Possession Arrest: Blotter

Palos Heights police reports, March 6-9.

SATURDAY, MARCH 9 David A. Dicharo, 27, of the 7000 block of West 100th Street in Chicago Ridge, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and following too closely, according to a police report. Police stopped Dicharo at 3:36 a.m. near 12700 S. Harlem Ave., for following too closely and discovered during the traffic stop that he allegedly showed signs of drinking. TUESDAY, MARCH 5 Beata M. Wells, 44, of 200 block of Douglas Way, Bolingbrook, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08, speeding and improper lane use, according to a police report. Wells was reportedly stopped for improper lane use and speeding. An officer allegedly observed signs that the driver had been drinking. Oak Lawn Man Charged in January Palos Park Ruse Burglary

Suspect was picked up in traffic stop earlier this week, sheriff's police say.

A 43-year-old, Oak Lawn man was arrested after he was identified as a possible suspect in a residential burglary in unincorporated Palos Park. The Cook County Sheriff’s Office announced burglary charges against Sonny Miller, of Oak Lawn, on Tuesday. According to the sheriff’s police news release, around 12:40 p.m. Jan. 30, a man wearing a white hard hat and carrying a tan shoulder bag with a fluorescent stripe knocked on the door of a house in the 12000 block of Newport Drive in Palos Park. Male-Female Ruse Burglar Combo Targeting Elderly in Local Area

Couple hit homes of elderly victims in Burbank and Bridgeview on Jan. 18.

Bridgeview Police are warning area residents to be on the lookout for a man and a woman who’ve schemed their way into the homes of elderly residents. At 6 p.m. Jan. 18, an elderly victim heard a knock at the front door of her home in the 7700 block of West 80th Place, in Bridgeview. When the elderly woman opened the door she saw a white female and male  standing there. The female told the elderly woman that she lives on the block and needed her help in finding kids in the area starting fires. Hickory Hills Man Pushed Through Window During Fight: Police

Both the Hickory HIlls man and another guy from Plainfield were arrested by Palos Hills police.

A fight between two men escalated earlier this month after one man was pushed through a storefront window. Michael Shaven, 21, of Hickory Hills, and Michael Moderhack, 23, of Plainfield, were charged with criminal damage to property on Nov. 17, according to a police report. Palos Hills officers were called at about 4 a.m. to 10154 S. Roberts Rd. on a property damage report. Arriving officers found a store window for Palos Tobacco & Liquors, 10162 S. FBI Searching for Hickory Hills Bank Robbery Suspect

TCF Bank branch in Hickory Hills was robbed Thursday afternoon, FBI says. Bank robbery suspect fled on foot.

A bank robber knocked off a TCF Bank branch in Hickory Hills just after 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The suspect—described as a white male between in his 20s, about six-foot-one, wearing white shorts, dark green shirt and baseball cap—walked into the TCF Bank branch at 9357 South Roberts Road and slipped a note to the teller. The note implied that he had a weapon, but none was displayed. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, witnesses said the man fled on foot. No injuries were reported. Men Face DUI, Other Charges After Leaving Scene of Accident

Woman whose car is hit follows other driver until police catch up in Palos Heights.

Two men face charges for switching places in the driver's seat after leaving the scene of an accident on Dec. 11, reports said. Peter Rodriguez, 44, of Tinley Park was charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident and permitting an intoxicated person to drive. Palos Heights police charged Kristopher Zitta, 22, of Peotone, for driving with a suspended license and driving under the influence. Oak Lawn police drove to 95th Street and Melvina Avenue after a woman called to say her car had been rear-ended by another car around 7:30 p.m. Police said the woman followed men’s car and saw both men get out and switch places after the accident. FRIDAY, NOV. 11 Erik E. Mokrzycki, 29, of the 12600 block of 69th Court in Palos Heights, was charged with violation of order of protection. Police said Mokrzycki broke the terms of a court order after "he appeared intoxicated" in his home. He was arrested at 9:24 p.m. without bond, according to the report. David J. Kubin, 23, of the 11200 block of Moraine Drive in Palos Hills, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they stopped Kubin’s car in the 12800 block of Harlem Avenue for driving 50 in a 35 mph zone and found a glass smoking pipe after he gave officers permission to search.
