It's not where you start.. it's were you are headed. That's the problem.. everyone wants executiveRead More level pay without paying their dues.

I didn't know that anyone in the AFL-CIO had the required skills to perform any type of analysis.

There is always a reason for a price-increase - I can't remember ever reading about a reason for aRead More price-decrease. It's possible no one else has noticed this. Isn't capitalism wonderful?

The disease came from China! Aids came from Africa, other diseases come from Mexico but yet we letRead More people flood to this country and they bring those diseases with them!
kay sieverding April 17, 2014 at 08:56 am
The price of pork can also go up because the price of beef is up. It's not just weather andRead More disease, it's also cost of fuel.

Too bad TOBS didn't have good parents to teach him right from wrong. Hating is wrong. There are goodRead More and bad in every group. I think I'm a little late. You've got to be taught to hate, before you're six, or seven, or eight...so the song goes.
Tired of the B.S. April 14, 2014 at 09:57 am
Amanda, you said, on one of your earlier posts, Amanda Horn March 25, 2014 at 10:03 PM "HowRead More miserable it would be to insist that everyone have the same lifestyle, views, politics, etc. as me." Too bad that if you are white, not gay, not liberal, or don't conform your beliefs to which ever way the winds are blowing, you seem to insist that those people are, in some way, wrong and full of hate. By the way, I have wonderful parents, who did teach me right from wrong. I just don't change the way I feel to try to fit in with the liberal way of thinking. Another thing that they taught me was "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me."

Tired of B.S. - This might not be on your top priority list, but it's on the top of other people's.Read More Keep that in mind.

If anyone can make this work its Frank Gatto and family! One of my favorite restaurants but most ofRead More all really great people to know!! OP you will love it!!
Larry April 11, 2014 at 08:59 am
Good Luck to the Gatto brothers, make this restaurant as successful as the Tinley Park location.

Some might have been involved in the vetting process, or should have been involved. We will neverRead More know.

Wow!!! Way to much power for one person. I wonder wow many pensions this person is entitled to? IRead More would think just being a judge would b a full time job for the county of Cook.
russell j. rutke April 8, 2014 at 07:15 am
Crook county is where politicians get schooled in quadruple dipping. Hard to imagine any county inRead More the US more corrupt. No coincidence that this occurs in a one party ruled county and state.

Goodwill is a joke . They take donated items and sell them for profit. None of the money goes to anyRead More charity or needy group. The CEO pays himself $600k a year while paying his employees (who are usually physically or mentally handicapped) less than minimum wage people would be better off donating items to shelters or Salvation Army

Lenny Kravitz April 1, 2014 at 10:49 pm
Anyone but Phillips Chevrolet. I got screwed at Phillips. I picked-out a truck, put down a $200 cashRead More deposit and came back the next day to find they sold my truck to someone else. Cheeseballs.
Interested resident April 2, 2014 at 09:01 am
That is a shame Lenny Kravitz. I'm sorry to hear that. The patch says Fallon will buy the truckRead More for the rep (in quotes). My understanding is that he is going to buy a truck from the rep. He said last Friday night that he didn't want to make it that easy for the sale.
william savick April 2, 2014 at 03:35 pm
Question Lenny Kravitz; Did you get your $200. back?
Bobby K April 1, 2014 at 10:11 am
Palos Patch this is very old news. Over the past 6 months your coverage has slowly become "OldRead More News". Ever since Beverly?Mt. Greenwood started, PP has degressed. Stop it now you had a good thing and were a leader.

Who cares what reddit commenters said about it? What did potential employers say about it????
Mikerrr April 1, 2014 at 12:18 pm
Who cares what a bunch of reddit commenters have to say about it? What did potential EMPLOYERSRead More have to say about her idea?
Chris M. March 18, 2014 at 12:04 pm
I think it's great that you post jobs that are available in the community and surrounding areas.Read More When my son was looking for a job 5 years ago, I wish this list on Patch did exist. Thank you!
James P. McMahon March 19, 2014 at 08:03 pm
Great idea. Let's ban tobacco and legalize marijuana. Makes sense to me!
Garrett Fifer March 23, 2014 at 05:27 pm
To all the people making the, "But they also sell alcohol!" argument. You must not beRead More aware that alcohol kills only a small fraction of people when compared to tobacco. According to the CDC, excessive alcohol consumption (key-word being excessive) leads to 88,000 deaths annually; while tobacco is responsible for 480,000 (almost a half-million) deaths annually. Furthermore, alcohol can be safely consumed in moderation without a large risk of addiction or cancer. In fact, alcohol (especially red wine) has health benefits. Tobacco has not one single health benefit and the most common outcome of consuming it is addiction, chronic illness, and shortened life expectancy. Tobacco companies profit off addiction. So please, take your uneducated comparisons elsewhere.
Greg Alan March 24, 2014 at 09:48 am
Not arguing here, about the facts of tobacco, and how it kills people. Not comparing alcohol, toRead More tobacco, & which 'drug' kills MORE people. People make CHOICES to buy these items. People also choose to drink irresponsibly, and kill, injure, & affect families, when they choose to DRINK & DRIVE! Smokers affect their own health! Which is more evil? I agree with Tony!

This hospital has had an inherent problem with the manner in which it has dealt with so many lineRead More items of mismanagement I would not have enough space to post. I will say this, if it does not stop and completely revise its internal structure, it will need to be taken over by another system that knows what needs to be done.
russell j. rutke March 17, 2014 at 08:42 am
What a surprise. A democrat laden pch board management team, sharing the wealth with family andRead More friends, per the Cook County unwritten code. That same board allowing the hire of the crooked CEO who departed after only a few months, under arrest. Anyone investigating the hiring/firing practices of the hospital?
Laura Reddy March 17, 2014 at 10:47 am
I've always been suspicious of that hospital. My father was recently hospitalized and doctorsRead More claimed he had symptoms he never did so they could do procedures he didn't need. When I started asking questions and said I was going to go higher up the food chain for answers, my father was suddenly well enough to be discharged the next day! Can we say "padding the bill"???

I agree, I went to a Yard house in Hawaii and Loved it. Outstanding food and service. I dig RockRead More Bottoms too but if they decide to change Yard House would be an excellent choice.
Matt Aggen February 24, 2014 at 08:38 am
We LOVE Rock Bottom over here. Great food and great beer. Having said this, this article isRead More confusing. Why would a company sell one of their buildings only to turn around and lease it out? (I'm assuming this is what's going on since Rock Bottom is staying in the building.)
Pat Cannon February 25, 2014 at 04:24 pm
In this article they touch on Orlands smart growth....... every thing is in the wording ... likeRead More when our country changed secretary of War to secretary of Defense.. see how much nicer : ) sure we still bully and Kill Innocent people but it's in Defense.. to funny.. so now back to "" smart growth "" it's a term that they came up with during Agenda 21 meetings.. look into it , basically how to steer the tax payers in towns n city's to go along with hidden agenda's, it all started with the club of Rome, look it up as well..
