High School Football Season Begins and More This Weekend

The Sandburg Eagles, Stagg Chargers and Shepard Astros get going this weekend in Orland and Palos.

Friday

Football: Stagg vs. Hillcrest

The Amos Alonzo Stagg High School Charges are looking to get their season off right after going 2-7 in 2012. Stagg kicks the season off against the Hillcrest High School Hawks 6:45 p.m. at their stadium, 17401 S. Pulaski Road in Country Club Hills.

Football: Shepard vs. Brother Rice

The Shepard Astros get the season started with a big out-of-conference opener at home against the Brother Rice Warriors. The game is at 7 p.m. at Shepard, 13049 S. Ridgeland Ave.

Football: Sandburg vs. L-Way Central

The Carl Sandburg High School Eagles will be taking on the Lincoln-Way Central Knights at the New Lenox field for both teams’ first game of the season. Last year, Sandburg bested them by a little winning 7-3. Will history repeat itself? The game is scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m. 1801 E. Lincoln Hwy., in New Lenox.
