Pair Hospitalized in Palos Park Wreck: Police

Two drivers were trying to beat a yellow light Tuesday morning, Palos Park police said. One remains in fair condition at Advocate Christ Hospital.

A 25-year-old Northbrook man is in fair condition following a Tuesday morning crash in Palos Park.

Two drivers were taken to area hospitals after a Chevrolet Trailblazer and a 4-door Mitsubishi collided at about 7:23 a.m. Tuesday in the intersection of 123rd Street and South LaGrange Road, police said.

Both drivers tried to beat the yellow light, police said. 

The driver of the Chevy, a 50-year-old Orland Hills man, was cited for failing to yield, police said. He was treated at Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights. It appears he was released by 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The Northbrook man was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he remains in fair condition.
