New Feeder Program Designed to Boost Shepard Wrestling

Scott Richardson and Dominic Passolano plan to launch Astro Wrestling Club with orientation meeting later this month.

At the IHSA state meet, right before final round begins comes the familiar call, "Let's wrestle."

Now, that call will be ringing throughout the portion of Palos served by District 218. Never has the district had a feeder wrestling program--until now.

Scott Richardson and Dominic Passolano are starting a youth wrestling club for Shepard High School this coming year. The club is going to be called the Astro Wrestling Club.

"It is going to serve as a direct feeder for Shepard High School and serve the Shepard High School communities," Passolano said.

There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, May 25, at Shepard High School to discuss the program's philosophy and goals. The meeting is set to begin at 6 p.m. in the Shepard cafeteria.
