Knights On Verge of Historic Baseball Season

Chicago Christian notched win No. 27 over Beecher on Friday and now seeks to tie best season in school history.

In 2009, Chicago Christian’s baseball team won 28 games. This season’s squad is just one victory away from that benchmark, with two regular-season games remaining.

On Friday, the Knights showed how potent their bats can be. They sent 12 men to the plate and scored eight runs in the first inning of . Every Knights batter in the lineup scored, and each of them had at least one hit.

The Knights (27-5) scored their 11 runs on 13 hits (on Friday the 13th, appropriately) in a game that was called in the fifth inning. Jeremy Kamp was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs, and he earned the win on the mound. Jon Lemmenes had a three-run triple and Luke Coffman had a two-run double.
