Astros' senior catcher wants to finish playing high school ball just as she started--with strong family ties in place.

Shepard senior catcher Crista Dusek wants her final softball season to be about creating memories and friendships that last a lifetime.

"I want to win and become a family," she said.

Dusek is hoping the Astros can come together and gain a victory in the game she is most excited about this year.

"I'm looking forward to playing Richards (at home on April 14)," she said. "It's a big rivalry."

Dusek started playing when she was 8 years old. She said her dad played baseball when he was younger and wanted her to follow in his footsteps.

When she's off the field, Dusek keeps plenty busy. She loves music and is a member of the Shepard marching band. She spends her free time doing homework, hanging out with her brother and her boyfriend.

When she finally says goodbye to Shepard, Dusek said she is planning on attending Indiana State to study nursing.
