Jason Vander Laan started playing Bulldogs youth football when he was in fourth grade. He is now in his senior year at Chicago Christian and has stepped into a leadership role as the Knights' quarterback.

Vander Laan led the Knights to a 27-21 victory in their opener at Marengo. He is hoping for similar success in Suburban Christian Gold conference play. Chicago Christian faces Aurora Central Catholic on Friday night. Both teams are 1-1.
