Game of the Week: Johnson, Chargers Overpower Tinley Park
Stagg 9, Tinley Park 1. Faith Johnson's home run kick-started the Chargers' offense in softball opener.
Touching All the Bases: Lea LaSota was dominant on the mound for the Chargers, not allowing a hit until the fourth inning as Stagg notched a 9-1 softball victory over Tinley Park on Wednesday. Faith Johnson started off the Chargers' scoring, hitting a rocket out of the park in the fourth inning to give Stagg a 2-0 lead. Stagg used a four-run sixth-inning uprising to extend its lead to 7-0. The Titans' only run came as the result of an RBI single by Alyssa Gunther in the sixth.
Patch's MVP: Faith Johnson, Stagg. She went 3-for-4, including a triple and a homer.
Stagg Leaders: Jessica Arebalo went 4-for-4 and had two stolen bases, two singles, a double and a walk. Lea LaSota (1-0) didn't allow the Titans to get a hit until the fourth inning. She struck out six in seven innings.

Tinley Park Leaders: Alyssa Gunther went 1-for-3. She singled in the sixth inning to drive in the Titans' only run. Staci Bonezak went 2-for-3 with a triple and a walk.
