Former Chicago Bandit, Blue Wave Fastpitch to Host Softball Camps

The camps will be held on Sunday, June 29 and Sunday, July 27.

Local softball players looking to up their game this summer are invited to two camps led by a three-time All-American and record-holder from St. Xavier University.

Colleen Kilduff—also a former player with the Chicago Bandits—and Blue Wave Fastpitch will offer tips on how to improve your softball skills, with help from her Mother McAuley Varsity team.

Camps will be offered to girls ages 7–10, and will be held June 29 and July 27, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at Grasmere Park, 10335 W. Lindsay Lane in Mokena.

Kilduff graduated from Saint Xavier University in 2006 with a degree in History and Secondary Education. She played four years on SXU’s softball team, where she set multiple national and school records. She currently holds the career and single season records for slugging percentage, on base percentage, hits, doubles, home runs, RBI’s, total bases and intentional walks. She is a three-time NAIA all American and in 2006 she set the NAIA national record for doubles.

She was also named conference, regional and national player of the year in 2006. She was the first athlete in SXU history to be named National Player of the Year in any sport. After her career at SXU, she went on to play one season with the Comcast Chicago Bandits. While on the team, she had the opportunity to play with some of the best athletes in the world, including Olympians Jennie Finch and Vicky Galindo.

Those interested should send name, birth date and requested camp date(s) to register@bluewavefastpitch.com. A free camp T-shirt will be provided for every pre-registered camper. In the event of rain, the camp will be moved indoors.
