Fournier often makes her presence felt in center field, but she’s been putting in extra work at the plate recently.

"She's been putting in a lot of extra time with her hitting,” Stagg coach Missy Mason said. “She just wants to get better all the time. Defensively, she always does a great job. For her to be able to pull through on offense—nobody wants it more for her than her team because she's a great kid."

Fournier was glad to be able to come through for her teammates.

"It feels good to get a win for the team. It feels good to keep our undefeated record going," she said, "I stayed in there after two not so good at-bats and was able to adjust."

Fournier plans to attend Moraine Valley Community College and play softball for the Cyclones. She anticipates going on to the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is unsure if she will play softball for the Flames, which her Stagg teammate, Faith Johnson, plans to do.
