Athlete of the Week: Lemmenes Helping Knights Chase History

It was the first inning of Friday’s game, and Chicago Christian had the bases loaded and two runs in against the Beecher Bobcats.

Jon Lemmenes stepped to the plate and hit the first pitch he saw deep to right field for a bases-clearing triple that put the Knights up 5-0 in what would end up being an eight-run first inning. The Knights eventually won .

"The pitcher was just throwing outside fastballs. We just pulled the ball to the right side, and that helped," Lemmenes said after the game.

Lemmenes, a junior center fielder, has been instrumental in Chicago Christian’s success this season. The Knights are just from tying for the best record in school history.
