Obama Tells Dems To "Shut Up" About The Texas Border Crisis - Must Be Why Lipinski Is Silent!

recent search of Dan Lipinski's Official Government House Page reveals no comments about the Texas Border Crisis. [search yourself] One wonders if the President has "got" to Lipinski too!  Why no comment from the Congressman about the thousands of illegal aliens who have flooded our nation's southern border?  If President Obamadoesn't seem too worried about the situation, and is taking his time to have a beer, maybe Lipinski shouldn't be concerned either.

If you're telling yourself "Obama has increased border security - he said so himself."  Well the facts suggest otherwise:

"There is an incentive that if you bring your child over here, or you’re a child by yourself, you’re going to be let go. And that’s exactly what’s happening," Rep. Henry Cuellar (TX) told CNN. "Our immigration courts are so backlogged. There’s not enough detention spaces. … This is the incentive we have to take away. (Newsmax 7/7/14)"  Rep. Cuellar was last seen on Fox News Program "Hannity" (on 7/9/14) and reported that every day there is approximately 1200 to 1300 people flooding our border (20% are young kids with no parents) and creating a massive humanitarian crisis.  Furthermore the Representative, stated "that 40% of a Border Patrol Agent's time is spent processing these kids, who's then taking care of the border the rest of the time?"

Gov. Rick Perry (Texas) recently stated on national tv, that there's a need for greater border control in Texas.  He cited that on average there is 15 border patrol agents per mile from El Paso Texas to California.  However, in Texas alone that number is actually 7 patrol agents per mile (leaving huge gaps in border security).  The federal government needs to supply greater resources in securing our borders.

The Center for Immigration Studies (CFIS) compiled DHS documents and reported a list of key findings (here are just a few alarming items):

  • The number of deportations resulting from interior enforcement by ICE declined by 19 percent from 2011 to 2012.
  • Total deportations in 2011 numbered 715,495 – the lowest level since 1973.
  • Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the division of ICE that is responsible for work site enforcement, combating transnational gangs, overstay enforcement, anti-smuggling and trafficking activity, and busting document and identity theft rings, now contributes very little to immigration enforcement. In 2013 HSI has produced only four percent of ICE deportations, making just a few thousand arrests per year throughout the entire country.
  • Enforcement activity declined in every ICE field office from 2011 to 2013, with the biggest declines in the Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Washington DC/Virginia, and Houston field offices.
Think this issue won't affect you locally? It may come to your city soon, as it has already come to others in our nation [read more here].

"Weighing all the options of this critical issue at the border, Rep. Dan Lipinski has chosen to have a fundraiser on July 7th (instead of visiting the border, when he clearly has the financial means to, or, hosting a town hall meeting where he can inform Illinois citizens on the status of this crisis).  Fundraising must be easier than actually representing and informing citizens on the actions of our federal government.

Silent, indecisive and floundering ... Lipinski seems to be following Mr. Obama every step of the way.

All efforts should be made to have all the children and young adults coming across the border be seen by a physician but then immediately sent back to their parents and countries of origin.  We are a nation of laws and borders and need to adhere to those laws which require us to secure our borders.  Until those laws change by legislative means, and not any unilateral decision made by the executive branch of the government, we need to continue to follow those immigration laws." -- Sharon Brannigan
