The Art of Giving Benefits Local Charities

A new art exhibit at Governors State University opens with a charity auction benefitting local community groups.

There's a new art exhibit at Governors State University that should be on your to do list for November.The "Art of Giving” is both an ongoing exhibit and a charity auction. Local artists represented include Karen Jania (Munster, IN), Dave Gibbons (Beecher, IL), Jack Gildroy (Crestwood, IL), Mark Fiske (Morris, IL), Melissa Gumbs (Coal City, IL), Richard Lapidus (Palos Hills, IL), and Thomas Luehring (Justice IL)The show opening and auction is on November 9, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m. The proceeds of the auction will benefit GSU Promise, South Side Community Arts Center, Southwest Animal Welfare League, Women at Risk International, Under His Wings, and Early Learning Partnership of NW Indiana/Parents as Teachers.  Be sure to mark this event on your calendar.
