Palos Heights Does the Fourth of July Right
Palos Heights Celebrates Independence Day with Small Town Charm
There's something small town and patriotic about the way Palos Heights runs its Independence Day celebrations. The celebration begins on July 3 at 4:00 p.m. with activities ranging from a petting zoo to touch-a-truck to a climbing wall to a bean bag tournament. Some are free; others require tickets. There is also live musical entertainment from the Jake & Elwood Bluze Review. Fireworks take place at dusk from Lak Katherine. This year the parade steps off at Noon on July 4. This is a charming parade filled with antique cars, walking groups and floats. It's not long. It's not fancy. It's just very enjoyable and neighborly. We try to get there a bit early to find a place in the shade and always bring chairs. The best part is being able to wave to the people you know as they go by.No matter where you live, consider joining in the celebrations in Palos Heights. You'll have fun and recall what Independence Day used to be like in towns all across the U.S.For more information visit http://www.palosheights.org/
