Palos Fine Arts Association Sponsors Free Concert

Join the Palos Fine Arts Association for a free outdoor concert on Thursday, June 21.

The great thing about summer is that there are so many fun outdoor activities scheduled. This Thursday, June 21, bring your picnic basket, a blanket and your dancing shows for a free concert featuring the Bill Porter Orchestra on the Palos Park Village Green. With repertoire that runs from Frank Sinatra to show tunes to TV theme songs, the Bill Porter Orchestra will keep everyone singing and dancing.  The Palos Fine Arts Association and the Village of Palos Park co-sponsor this fundraising event, which benefits art scholarships for local students. How can they raise money if the event is free? Scholarship raffle tickets will be available for purchase. In addition to the music and raffle, there will be face painting & balloon sculpture for children and a roaming juggler. Frangella Italian Imports, Aurelio’s, Plush Horse Ice Cream, and Palos Park Recreation will have food available for purchase. Beer and wine coolers will also be available for purchase. The pre-concert activities and picnic begin at 5:30 p.m. The musical entertainment and dancing run from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The Village Green is at 8901 W. 123rd Street in Palos Park.  For more information visit http://www.palosfinearts.com/events.htm.
