Trinity Christian College Celebrates Commencement

Commencement marked the graduation of
205 traditional and 77 adult studies students on Saturday, May 12.

The speaker for the traditional ceremony was Donnita Travis, founder and
executive director of By the Hand Club for Kids in Chicago; and Dr. Lori Scrementi, dean for adult studies at Trinity.

Three professors were honored with emerita/emeritus status: Professor of
Communication Arts Sharon Barnes, Ph.D., of Winfield; Assistant Professor of
Education John Hoogewerf, M.S., of Lansing; and Professor of Theology Donald
Sinnema, Ph.D., of Blue Island.

The inaugural presentation of Professor of the Year recognized Dr. Robert Rice of
Palos Heights. Rice has been a professor of history at Trinity since 1979.
