Sophomore Boys Golf: Shepard Wins South Suburban Red Conference Title

Colin Cody and Shane Wright lead the charge as the Astros rule in South Suburban Red golf golf.

When you bunch four players in the top six in a high school golf tournament, good things are going to happen.

Shepard pulled off the feat at the recent South Suburban Red sophomore boys conference golf tournament. The Astros bunched four players in the top six and won the team title with a score of 402.

Colin Cody led the way for Shepard with his round of 97, good for medalist honors. Shane Wright (second, 100), Nick Busch (fourth, 101) and Jimmy Serpico (sixth, 1-4) rounded out the scoring for the Astros.

Brendan Hermann (13th, 111) and Matt Domina (19th, 115) also contributed during Shepard's drive to the conference title. Michael Oziemkowski is the Astros' coach.

Evergreen Park placed second wth a team total of 427, followed by Richards 432, Reavis 456, Argo 500, Oak Lawn 518 and Eisenhower 537.
