Sandburg Sends Hometown Love to Olympian Kendall Coyne

Staff at the former high school of Olympian Kendall Coyne had to show their girl just how proud she makes them.

Everybody loves the hometown girl taking the ice in front of the world.

Staff at Sandburg High School last week planned ahead and dressed alike—in support of alum and U.S. Olympian Kendall Coyne.

Coyne, 21, was named to the U.S. Women's Hockey team and is currently representing Palos Heights and the United States as a member of the U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team at the Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

The group sent the photo and a shout-out to Coyne, to wish her luck. The team recently defeated Finland (3-1) and Switzerland (9-0) before losing to Canada (2-3). The team made it into the semifinals, where they beat Sweden, 5-0. On to the gold medal round!

Follow along with Coyne's journey.
