Palos Heights Softball Standout Ford Heads to Concordia

McAuley grad and Palos Heights resident Dana Ford signs letter of intent to play softball at Concordia (Mich.).

The Mighty Macs are sending a mighty bright prospect to the collegiate softball ranks.

Dana Ford, a Palos Heights native and recent graduate of Mother McAuley, signed her national lettter of intent to play softball at Concordia (Mich.) on Thursday.

Ford played shortstop at Mother McAuley and helped lead the Mighty Macs to victories over St. Ignatius and Marion Catholic, two of their top rivals. She could play in the infield or the outfield at Concordia.

She also was one of the first members of McAuley's lacrosse team when the school began offering the sport during her junior year. In June, she and her teammates advanced to state sectional play before falling by the wayside.

Bulls Camp Coming to Palos Heights

The Chicago Bulls are bringing their official camp to Palos Heights, according to TribLocal. The camp runs from Aug. 8-12. For students, the focus will be on learning basketball fundamentals.
