Gimme 5: DeRuiter De-Livers Da Goods at Chicago Christian
Knights' volleyball senior captain Becky DeRuiter excels on two courts, the softball diamond and in the classroom.
In the eyes of Chicago Christian girls volleyball coach James Garcia, senior Becky DeRuiter is a rare breed.
In addition to volleyball, DeRuiter plays basketball and softball. And, in an age of specialization, she bucks the odds, plays all three sports very well.
"She is probably the most aggressive, fit and athletic girl I have," Garcia said.

DeRuiter is preparing to begin her third year playing varsity volleyball at Chicago Christian. She was brought up during her sophomore season. She is expected to be one of the senior leaders on a Knights team that has been in the state title match in back-to-back seasons and is looking to defend its 2010 Class 2A title.
DeRuiter hopes to lead her team back to the state finals in 2011.
