Moraine Valley Nature Study Area to Get ‘Burned’
The Nature Study Area at Moraine Valley Community College, 9000 W. College Pkwy., Palos Hills, will undergo a controlled burn on Friday, April 8, weather permitting.
The college will do the burn to reduce the presence of invasive species and restore ecological vitality to the Nature Study Area, used by classes in many disciplines. Applied Ecological Services, which will conduct the burn, will begin by late morning. If the weather conditions are not favorable, the burn will be rescheduled.
