Kids Non-traditional Career Camp Offered at Moraine Valley
Girls who want to be auto mechanics and boys who want to be nurses should attend the Non-Traditional Career Camp at Moraine Valley Community College, 9000 W. College Pkwy., Palos Hills.
The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, June 13, to Thursday, June 16. The cost is $25 and includes lunch daily.
Kids in grades sixth through eighth are invited to explore their interests and non-traditional careers choices. Girls will learn about women in automotive, emergency medical services, welding, and other industries. Boys will learn about men in physical therapy, nursing, and other careers.

“Research shows that men and women are increasingly moving into and succeeding in non-traditional careers,” said Aurora Zwick, the program’s coordinator.
“Some of the best benefits of non-traditional careers are the opportunities to learn a variety of new things that will lead to better advancement opportunities, higher salaries and better benefits in one’s career.”

To register for the camp, call (708) 974-2110, visit the Registration office in Building S, or go to morainevalley.edu, click on Hot Topics, Register and Pay for Noncredit Classes, Prospective Student, Search, Register and Pay for Noncredit Classes, enter the registration code, and pay with credit card. The boy’s registration code is PY4-498-001, and the girl’s registration code is PY4-499-001.
