THE LOVEHAMMERS HOST BIGGEST SHOW OF THE YEAR…HAMMERFEST!

Musicians from Hickory Hills Host HAMMERFEST at House of Blues

As one of Chicago’s favorite alternative rock bands, the Lovehammers will host the 2013 Hammerfest on Saturday June 1st at 6:00pm at the House of Blues in Chicago. Since its inception in 2000, Hammerfest gets bigger and better each year.  While not just a concert, Hammerfest features creative acts such as painting, dance, etc.   This year’s show will feature Kyle Chrise, writer/producer of Sirius radio’s “Sixx Sense” doing comedy in between music sets while local bands Vintage Blue, Superbig and Ockam’s Razor (16-17 year olds) rock out on stage.

“We are especially excited to welcome a young band to this year’s lineup.  We want to give them the opportunity of playing on a stage like House of Blues,” adds Marty Casey.

“This year we plan on giving our fans the greatest Lovehammers production to date!” adds Dino Kourelis.

With a sound best described as a combination of pop-punk with grunge influences, Lovehammers have become one of the most popular bands in Chicago while also gaining national and international attention for the last two decades.  They have provided support for bands/musicians such as Nickelback, INXS, Slash, Chevelle, KISS, Buckcherry, Theory of a Deadman, The Wallflowers and appeared LIVE on VH1.

This past November, Lovehammers launched their seventh album Set Fire which they consider some of their best work yet.  Band members Marty Casey, Dino Kourelis, Bobby Kourelis and Billy Sawilchik decided on a “hands on” approach for the album so they began by building and engineering their own studio. Next, was
writing, recording and making the album come to life.  Lovehammers enlisted fans for the album artwork while mixing and mastering was left to music pro Anthony Foxc.

Set Fire is the hardest hitting album the Lovehammers have ever delivered. Together they worked incessantly for 18 months to create a group of songs that would blow their own minds.

Set Fire was released by Ingrooves/Fontana on November 20th and is available at www.lovehammers.com, iTunes, Amazon.com and select Chicago record stores.

Tickets to Hammerfest are $22.50 and can be purchased at Reep Records (no fees) http://reeprecords.com/HAMMERFEST.html or Ticketmaster (with fees) at http://bit.ly/16nIk7o.   www.lovehammers.com
