You Helped Fund the Metra Debacle
A recent blog post from Reboot Illinois explains why you should be paying close attention to the scandal surrounding Metra and House Speaker Mike Madigan.
Regardless of whether or not you ride Metra, you're still helping pay for it. And that means you may have helped pay as much $718,000 to Metra's former CEO to keep quiet about a scandal involving House Speaker Mike Madigan pressuring Metra to give one of his political supporters a raise (which also would have sucked up more of your tax dollars), according to a recent blog post from Reboot Illinois.

THE BACKGROUND The Metra scandal is two scandals in one. First there's the alleged pressure from Madigan to get his friend a raise. Then there's the massive separation agreement that required Clifford to keep quiet about it. But a third scandal invokes what might be called the Three M's: Metra, Madigan, Mell.
