Palos Park Teen Is Standout Scholar

Billy Christy knows a thing or two about a thing or two. The recent high school graduate was recognized by the Palos Park Village Council on Monday for his academic achievement.

Christy graduated from St. Ignatius this May and was in the top one percent of his class at the prestigious college prep school.

Christy also was awarded a Comcast Scholarship that recognizes high achieving students. He was also a National Merit Scholar, Illinois State Scholar and in the Navy ROTC.

Christy also participated in swimming, water polo and band. He will attend Notre Dame University in the fall.

Christy thanked the council members for the honor and remarked on his time at and growing up in Palos Park as pivotal to his success.
