Palos Park Looks Into Possible Chicken Coop Ordinance

The Palos Park Village Council has begun to examine the issue of chicken coops within the village.

does not currently have an ordinance regarding backyard chicken coops on the books, but that could soon change.

As home chicken coops have become something of a trend across the country, Palos Park commissioners voted Monday to direct the Plan Commission to examine the issue.

However, just because there is not an ordinance on the books, doesn't mean chickens aren't calling Palos Park home.

"There have been and presently are chicken coops in Palos Park," Reed said.
