Woman Chases Kids onto School Bus Over Newspaper Theft: Blotter

Mom Charged With Battery

Tamara Brown, 29, of Palos Hills, was charged with battery, according to a report. Brown is accused of fighting with a woman who was concerned about children throwing snowballs at cars near a bus stop. On March 7, she told the children to stop. The next day, Brown reportedly came up to the woman, yelled about disciplining her son and hit her. Police were called back to the area at 5:20 p.m. by the victim, who said Brown had threatened to damage her vehicle. Brown is due in Bridgeview court on April 4.

School Bus Battery

Maryte Zablockas, 62, of Palos Hills, was charged with two counts of battery, one count of disorderly conduct and one count of criminal trespass, according to a report. She is accused of grabbing children who took her newspaper and then trying to get onto the bus. Officers were called at about 8:40 a.m. to the area of 99th Street and Walnut Terrace. The bus driver, who told police what happened, had stopped her from getting on board. The parents of the children were notified and signed complaints against Zablockas. She is due in Bridgeview court on April 4.

IRS Woes

Two people received letters claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service about problems with the income they reported in their taxes. Both victims said they were going to contact Social Security. One also planned to contact the Secretary of State's office.

Yelling Kids And Reckless Driving

Three male juveniles were released to their parents after police picked them up for arguing. Officers were called at about 11 p.m. to the area of 8600 West Sun Valley in reference to a reckless driver. A car parked in the area matched the description given by the caller. The three boys were spotted yelling at each other. No charges or citations were listed.
