Woman Thinks She Might Have Been Pulled Over by Fake Cop

Palos Hills police report, Nov. 9.

Palos Hills police say that a woman reported that she may have been pulled over by a man impersonating a police officer.

On Saturday, Nov. 9 around 4 p.m. a woman was driving on 111th Street approaching Roberts Road when she saw a white car flashing strobe lights behind her, police said.

She then pulled her car over and a white male wearing a short-sleeved dark blue uniform with a badge approached her car. The red haired and freckled man asked to see her driver's license, police said.

The woman reported that she was traveling 40 miles per hour and the supposed police officer told her that was the speed limit, police said.

He then took her driver's license, looked at it and gave it back to her. The man then went back to his car and drove away, police said.

After the woman reported her story officers checked with area police departments and could not find any officer matching the physical description the woman gave. They continue to investigate the incident.
