Palos Park police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man wanted for scamming a gas station out of fuel.
The man targeted a Shell station at 130th and LaGrange on Monday. He told the clerk his credit card had been rejected at the pump, prompting the clerk to activate it—then pumped his gas and took off without paying, police said.
The gas station manager told police the same man had attempted a similar cheat at a station across the street.
The offender is described as a while male, over 6 feet tall and slender build with very short brown hair and long mustache. He was seen driving a gray, mid-sized two-door vehicle, possibly a Saturn.
Anyone with information on the suspect should contact police at 708-448-2191.
