UPDATED: Woman Found Dead in Palos Park Ditch

An unidentified woman was found frozen in a Palos Park ditch early Monday morning, according to reports.

A woman's body was found frozen in a Palos Park ditch early Monday morning, WGN is reporting

The woman has not yet been identified and is described as being in her 50s, according to reports. No signs of trauma were found, the Sun-Times reports.

Last night, Palos Park police issued a for Paula Spika, 51, who was last seen near 123rd Street and 86th Avenue, close to where the body was found.

UPDATE 4:30 p.m.: Palos Park Police Chief Joe Miller confirmed that the body of a woman was found in a retention ditch along the 12700 block of 86th Avenue in unincorporated Palos Park .

The body was found frozen around 11:30 p.m on Sunday night, Miller said.

Police discovered the body after initiating a search after a woman was on Sunday night around 10 p.m. The woman was last seen in the area near the 12300 block of 86th Avenue, Miller said.

At this time it has not been officially determined that the body recovered was the missing woman, Miller said.

An autopsy is expected to be performed Tuesday. The Cook County sheriff's police are currently investigating.
