Oak Lawn Driver Charged With Marijuana Possession

Mohammad Nakhleh, 20, of Oak Lawn, was charged with possession of cannabis, driving with a suspended license and obstructing police, according to a report. Palos Hills police stopped a car at about 12:20 a.m. in the 8800 block of 99th Street for a traffic offense. During the stop, police said they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Nakhleh reportedly handed over a clear plastic bag of what tested positive as marijuana.

Police said Nakhleh then gave his brother's name to officer when asked for identification, according to the report. Police arrested Nakhleh, who then admitted to giving the incorrect name while in police custody. His court date is set for Dec. 5 in the Bridgeview courthouse.

Church Fence Set On Fire

Police were called at about 10:50 a.m. to Sacred Heart Church, 8245 W. 111th St., because of damaged property. Officers who arrived were told by maintainance workers that they found the rear wooden fence on fire. The workers were able to put out the fire but five cedar planks were burned.

Speedy Driver Charged with Drug Possession

Christian Camacho-Rodriguez, 20, of Oak Lawn, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug equipment, according to a police report. Camacho-Rodriguez's car was stopped at about 7:33 p.m. in 99th Street. Police said he was doing 40 mph in a 20 mph zone. During the stop, police reported smelling an odor of marijuana. The driver allegedly admitted to having the drug in the car. When found, the substance tested positive for cannabis, police said. Camacho-Rodriguez is due in Bridgeview court Dec. 21.
