Trio of DUIs in Palos Heights: Police Blotter

Two drivers tested at three-times the legal limit, and the third got into an accident, according to police.

Triple the Legal Limit

William Svitak, 28, of the 5700 block of W. 128th St. in Crestwood, was charged with drunken driving. He was stopped at 2:35 a.m. after going through a red light at the intersection of 124th Street and Ridgeland, police said. He failed sobriety tests at the scene and a breath test later revealed a blood alcohol level of .225, more than three times the legal limit, police said. 


Triple the Legal Limit, Again 

Daniel Sechrist, 23, of Peotone, was charged with drunken driving after police say he was stopped at 3:29 a.m. in the 12700 block of Ridgeland Ave. for going over a lane line, police said. He failed a field sobriety test and a breath test showed a blood alcohol level of .233, police said.

DUI After Accident

David Hickey, 38, of the 13100 block of Forest Ridge Dr., was charged with drunken driving. Around 7:35 p.m. officers responded to a one-car crash on the 7000 block W. 127th St., police said. Hickey failed field sobriety tests and was also charged with not having valid insurance, police said.
