3 Accused of Robbing Area Homes

A Hickory Hills man is charged with five counts of burglary, Palos Hills police said.

Police arrested George Pittman, 18, of Hickory Hills, and charged him with five counts of burglary on Sept. 8. Pittman also is facing similar charges in other southwest suburbs.

Two men—Deaaron McCoy, 19, of Chicago and Jamal Johnson, 18, of Justice—were arrested and charged with residential burglary in July by the Southwest Major Crimes Case Unit. Its investigation led to Pittman as a suspect.

The major case unit is continuing to investigate, which could lead to more charges of people who might be working in the same group, said.

Burglaries orchestrated by the group work by one person knocking on the door and asking for directions if someone answers, police said. Members of the burglary group break in and take anything convenient from the homes where no one answers.

Police are asking residents to call police if they see suspicious people or vehicles in their neighborhood.
