The man was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, deputy police chief James Boie said. Information on his condition Wednesday afternoon was not available, and police did not release the man’s name. The motorcyclist was heading south about 3 p.m. in the 11300 block of Southwest Highway when a truck pulled out of a driveway and began turning north, Boie said. To avoid colliding directly with the truck, the man laid down his motorcycle and slid beneath the truck, Boie said. The truck driver was not injured. No charges have been filed, pending an investigation by Palos Hills police, Boie said. Southwest Highway was closed to traffic between 111th Street and Illinois 83 until about 8 p.m. Tuesday, Boie said. (SO MAYBE THE RIDER WASN'T SPEEDING or STUPID) Just sayin. let the investigation be completed b4 making accusations.
I know it's a stereotype, but people I've known from South Korea have been riding motorcycles all their lives in all kinds of weather (cars are too expensive for young people there) and "road rage" or reckless driving is very rare, UNLESS they see a foreigner driving, then an accident "happens" and the foreigner can't leave the country until the native, and police, are "satisfied".
